Putting my travel backpack on for the first time.

Setting out the materials before sewing my chalkbag.
Sewing Project
I've been interested in clothing and soft goods for a long time. While I do regularly repair my clothes to extend their longevity, my interest mostly manifests itself in making bags. I need to take some better photos of my creations, but a couple are captured here. Each sewing project was created from scratch by developing my own patterns through sketching.

1. Phoebe (my dog) testing out the load capacity of a tote bag I sewed for my Mom. I sewed another bag with the same pattern for my partner's mom. No dogs were harmed in the process, she actually weirdly enjoyed it.
2. My first test of a travel backpack I designed and built for my Dad. I often fly with just a personal item and wanted to see if I could design a bag which maximized the volume allotted to personal items by most airlines. I designed a bag inspired by my Osprey Flap Jack which perfectly fits those dimensions and has an extra set of zippers to allow it to open like a suitcase once you've reached your destination. I gifted this first iteration to my Dad for a Christmas gift, but I have plans to iterate further on this idea.
3. The knolling of panels preceding the construction of a chalk bag for my little brother. This was my second iteration of a chalk bag and it produced a much better result than the first. The outer material is made of upcycled jeans, my brother says his unique chalk bag gets lots of compliments in his climbing gym. I am going to bug my brother for a photo of it in use to share here.
