For my eagle scout project I partnered with the Portage Park District to carve a one mile loop trail into the woods of an undeveloped park. During this project I coordinated with parks district staff to ensure the route was approved and trail construction was completed to an appropriate standard. A mile of brush was cleared and one and a half tons of gravel were spread during the construction. Additionally, I established a labor division system to construct the entire trail in one day by effectively distributing more than 40 people along the route. Beyond completing the trail I also collaborated with the Friends of Portage Parks to use the new trail infrastructure as the showpiece of a fundraising effort. I am extremely proud of my journey through scouting and I believe this project was a perfect showcase of my leadership abilities.
