IDEXX Laboratories

I can provide more specific details about my work at IDEXX during a conversation as I cannot publish more detailed information online.
During the spring of 2019 I spent six months living in Maine working as a R&D Design Engineer in Instrument Development. My work was primarily focused on designing components for ProcyteOne, a hematolgy analyzer pictured to the left, which was released to pre-order in 2020. My work on this analyzer consisted of both revising existing components according to DFM and DFA considerations consistent with injection molding and designing a novel component of the fluidics system. Due to my contributions to the design of the fluidic system I have been included in a patent application alongside my co-workers, which I am very proud of.

While at IDEXX, I worked on both customer facing and interior components and utilized techniques such as rapid prototyping, FEA analysis, and laboratory testing to verify my design choices. I worked closely with manufacturers and my six person design team which bolstered my ability to effectively communicate with other engineers. In addition to working on new products I also created a variety of fixtures for both laboratory testing and manufacturing. I learned an incredible amount during my time at IDEXX and this experience confirmed my decision to pursue some type of career in design.
