This is the completed stapler in the closed position.

When opened it is possible to see that I included all the pieces for the stapler with the exclusion of the spring.

To demonstrate my ability to perform FEA analysis of the stapler I applied a force to the top surface, the displacement is shown in this image.
Stapler Recreation
Part of my CAD and Manufacturing class final project was to recreate an everyday object using SOLIDWORKS. I chose to base my model off of my roommate's stapler. During this project I was challenged to demonstrate the many different 3D CAD skills we had covered as part of the class.

In order to recreate the stapler in a 3D modeling environment I took the product apart and utilized a pair of calipers and a ruler to copy its critical dimensions. Each component of the stapler was individually modeled and then mated in a 6 part assembly. After completing the modeling I demonstrated my familiarity with a plethora of SOLIDWORKS add-ins such as FEA, sustainability, and manufacturing analysis.

I received high marks on this project and am proud of the faithful recreation of the stapler. Additionally, this project presented me with a unique opportunity to put together the many different skills and techniques I had learned throughout my CAD and Manufacturing class.
